Rick is a litigator focused on on commercial and constitutional disputes. He represents local businesses and national corporations in complex commercial litigation, guiding clients from pre-suit strategy through trial and the appellate process.
Rick also litigates high-stakes constitutional matters. He defends individuals and media companies sued for their First Amendment protected speech and sues government agencies that violate American’s constitutional rights. Rick has extensive experience enforcing government transparency laws, including the Freedom of Information Act, Kentucky’s Open Records Act and Open Meetings Act. His work ensures accountability and protects the public’s right to know.
After law school, Rick clerked for the Honorable H. Brent Brennenstuhl in the Western District of Kentucky where he got a front row seat to hundreds of proceedings and became well acquainted with federal courts.
