Katherine Tapp

Dedicated to delivering top-tier legal representation, Katherine Tapp is an accomplished litigator specializing in civil rights. Her expertise lies in advocating for clients within complex legal landscapes. As an active member of the Floyd and Clark County Bar Associations, the Indiana State Bar Association, the Defense Trial Counsel of Indiana, and the Defense Research Institute, Katherine is committed to upholding the highest standards in legal practice.

Katherine earned her B.A. from Morehead State University and graduated cum laude from the University of Louisville, Brandeis School of Law. Holding admissions to practice in all Indiana and Kentucky State courts, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, her scope of legal practice is extensive and multifaceted.

Beyond her legal career, Katherine is deeply engaged in several community endeavors. Her passion for falconry extends beyond a hobby—she currently serves as the President of the Indiana Falconer’s Association. Additionally, she is an active supporter of the Floyd County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), dedicating time and expertise to further the organization's mission. Katherine is also a member of Indiana's JLAP Advisory Committee, aiming to support individuals within the legal profession.

Katherine is enthusiastic about leveraging her legal expertise to make a positive impact both in and out of the courtroom, continually striving to enhance the communities she serves.
